Sadly - and cynically - I don't see how our society can return to principle when expediency seems to be so much more effective. What Glenn Greenwald is describing is underhanded and insidious.... but it works. And despite calling it out so clearly the majority of the people consuming the news will not be exposed to what Glenn is saying and will probably never realize the manipulation being delivered to them. Turns out, cheap shots are actually really good in a fight where there is no referee.
