Not really, because anyone that has been using the site for a while would know that "hacker" isn't "hacking" in the "break into computers and do bad stuff" kind, but the "hackathon" kind.



The comment did say that prudence would be warranted regardless of the site (their last sentence).

It would also be reasonable, albeit somewhat presumptuous, to assume that there are a number of black hat "hackers" on a site that shares a camaraderie around the hacking spirit and shares many security related stories/vulnerabilities.

I think your statement is also somewhat presumptuous. Sure there are software devs with a hackathon mindset. But what about the white hat hackers or technology managers who are not devs?


Being a "hackathon hacker" doesn't mean one is not a "hacking hacker" ;)
