For the past 2+ years I've been working on this project on and off (mostly off as of late, but I'd love to get back into it again)

MusicLink - a third party music app that does song matchup across streaming services. You can message a friend a link to a song and the app will automatically translate the link to their preferred streaming service. No more getting links to songs on services you don't have and manually looking up music.

That's the core functionality but I'm also building in generative playlists & music discovery tools.

I have been yearning for something like this for so long as I use multiple streaming services. As an example, I wanted to add the song to the other streaming services as soon as I added it to my library in any of them. H

Would you mind telling me how you enabled it? I just downloaded specifically for this feature and I haven't been able to figure it out just yet

Use keyboard arrow keys (left/right/up/down) and hover the mouse over the screen.

Why is this on the front page..? Apple Cash has been around for years. It doesn't even look like they've added anything new unless I'm missing something?

It's just a regular card:

"Apple Cash services are provided by Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC. Learn more about the Terms and Conditions. Only available in the U.S. on eligible devices. To send and receive money with an Apple Cash account, you must be 18 and a U.S. resident. If you’re under 18, your family organizer can set up Apple Cash for you as part of their Apple Cash Family account. Security checks may require more time to make funds available. Apple Cash Family accounts can send or receive up to $2000 per transaction or within a seven-day period. Sending money from Wallet requires iOS 15.5 or later.

An Apple Cash card is required to use Daily Cash, except if you do not have an Apple Cash card, in which case you can only apply your Daily Cash as a credit on your statement balance. The Apple Cash card is issued by Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC. See apple.com/apple-pay for more information. Daily Cash is earned on purchases after the transaction posts to your account. Actual posting times vary by merchant. Daily Cash is subject to exclusions, and additional details apply. See the Apple Card Customer Agreement for more information.

Variable APRs range from 11.24% to 22.24% based on creditworthiness. Rates as of April 1, 2022.

To access and use all the features of Apple Card, you must add Apple Card to Wallet on an iPhone or iPad with the latest version of iOS or iPadOS. Update to the latest version by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap Download and Install.

Available for qualifying applicants in the United States.

Apple Card is issued by Goldman Sachs Bank USA, Salt Lake City Branch"

Person to person cash transfers and family Apple Cash accounts are new features just recently enabled. I assume that's why it's in the news today.

I swear the discover pane content makes tabloids look like respectable news outlets

I don't have one myself but I do like Eufy. I have a few security cameras by them and they store everything locally + still work fine when I block them from communicating outside the local network

Wyze and Eufy are so funny. Parallel companies slowly crawling towards remaking every consumer electronic device, but cheaper and better.

Thank you so much as well

Can I ask why it's free? Seems like a great tool but I don't see any obvious monetization (which raises privacy concerns)

Thank you for checking it out! The app is free and completely client side right now, there is no tracking code or login required to use it.

I do plan to monetize the app with a pro subscription, by adding premium features such as converting video formats, sharing links of the video, hiding the control bar and more.

The current feature set will remain free and free users can continue to benefit from bug fixes and improvements.

Please try to add only the sharing feature into the pro version and make it cross platform (like cloudapp), you'll get a lot more users that eventually upgrade that way.

Making artificial features in the pro version is just annoying, charge for real value like hosting.

yeah I'm not sure why either... either fully open source it or have some kind of roadmap saying that you plan on monetizing it later or anything. looks useful but I'm concerned about privacy implications of it... when the product is free: you are the product kinda thing.

The 'dog' is Jerry. We all know it.

I also found that very unclear. It kind of sounds like another...Slack? Maybe?

Likely to be built within Slack, but certainly not a competitor.

I loved Designated Survivor but HoC is still better imo. Would love to find some new political dramas!

How about four more seasons of drama?

As other wrote Billions, and Broadwalk Empire are bothe great.

As for designated survivor it was a nice copy of house of cards, but lacked the level of storytelling that went into house of cards.

Hey Ted, I currently use google domains and while I'm pretty happy with that one service I would like to switch away from Google entirely and that is one of the last services of theirs I use. What case can you make for why I should switch to namecheap?

I guess my main point here is: if shit hits the fan and you lose access to your DNS, your domain is hijacked, or there is some other urgent catastrophic event, who would be easier to reach to remedy your issue? I'm a senior executive posting here offering up my email and as an industry veteran, I frankly do not even know who runs Google Domains. We're a bootstrapped founder-run company with a 20-year track record and even after all those years, we're still passionate about making customers happy.

Every time I had to get in touch with support person at Namecheap I've had very good experience. No matter if I had a presales question or was asking for technical advice, there was a real person to talk to, via live chat or email.

I'm a very satisfied Namecheap customer :-)
