That just looks like an icon to reinforce that "this is a GitHub project". It doesn't at all draw attention to the fact that clicking the icon is the main way to get to the GitHub page.
How about making the link cover the entire header ("sferik/t" and the octocat icon), or adding a "View project on GitHub" link under the description?
