Everyone has had and will most likely continue to have outages. The question is --- what is the trend? Are they increasing or decreasing with increased use of AI at Amazon?
Amazon has allegedly discussed internally the “trend of incidents" related to “Gen-AI assisted changes".
“Folks, as you likely know, the availability of the site and related infrastructure has not been good recently,” Dave Treadwell, a senior vice-president at the group, told employees in an email, also seen by the FT.
I'd say AI makes a lot more sense at the Guardian than it does Amazon.
If AI at the Guardian gets a few facts wrong, no big deal. Most readers probably won't notice. So better luck next time.
But if AI at Amazon gets a few facts wrong, millions of customers can be directly impacted. And this is hard not to notice.
It doesn't take much noticing before customers start going elsewhere.
