This is why whenever Uber books me with a Tesla, I cancel immediately. I don't want to have to remember how to unlock the door in that particular model of Tesla. It should ideally be a standard and obvious handle mechanism across all cars.
Not gonna lie, I’ve driven thousands of cars professionally including almost every Tesla and the entry/exit is always a nightmare. As a technician or driver, I always had a moment of ennui when I saw the make Tesla roll in.
Maybe I’m a moron, additionally I’m sure you get used to it as an owner of that specific thing, but universally my colleagues opined: “Oh, fuck teslas.”
They are cars that drive though, not to yuck your yum.
Worst of all stuff like this is “how EVs work” because of them, so even legacy brands have been doing this on their EVs. Don’t want to be old fashioned.
