Show HN: SynthGenie – Natural Language to Sound Design for Hardware Synths (synthgenie.com)

Hi HN,

I’ve built SynthGenie, an AI-powered agent that connects to your hardware synthesizer via USB MIDI and lets you design sounds using natural language.

You can type prompts like: - “Give me a warm analog bass like in Stranger Things” - “Make a shimmering pad for ambient music” - “I want a plucky arp with filter movement.”

SynthGenie understands the request and sends the appropriate MIDI CC or SysEx messages to control your synth in real-time. It supports the FM synth Digitone 2 and Moog Subsequent 37 for now, and I’m adding more based on user demand.

Project is open source -> https://github.com/zerubeus/synthgenie

MCP version of this -> https://github.com/zerubeus/elektron-mcp

Sounds cool! Going to give it a go on the sub37.
