The wine is made in the UK and I don't believe to would be illegal to import and sell it in France as what it is. It would be illegal for him to make it in France. There are lots of possible stories like that.

That's a lie. I wonder what other lies are in this article. Especially hiding why it is forbidden. Maybe he tried to sell it under the label "French wine" when it's a mix from different countries, who knows.


Not sure if you're joking, but it's right there in the article:

"The two bottles in question, one white and one red, would be illegal in France because they are made from a blend of French and Australian base wines."
