That's the thing: there are people who are desperate to start a full-on war before Jan 20. So they're doing everything they can to tease Putin into breaking before Jan 20.
If I had to go all-in with my money, my bet would be that's it's the exact same group of people who conspired to do the assassination attempt on July 13.
In addition to that the amount of money that has been laundered and the kickbacks happening with the Ukraine war funding has to be beyond imagination too. Zero accountability.

No one will launch nukes without previously being attacked with nukes, because that is a kind of no return "fuck you all" button that would throw humanity back to the middle age.
Why? after the isotopes comes the destabilization of the country, hunger and pain. The systems are designed to give no country or power an advantage in such weakness scenario, continental nukes would fly to and from all world powers, Moscow would blow itself up, it would be self-destruction.
