The daughter of the LA Times owner wrote: "There is a lot of controversy and confusion over the LAT’s decision not to endorse a presidential candidate. I trust the Editorial Board’s judgment. For me, genocide is the line in the sand."
Absolute nonsense. It wasn't the Editorial Board's decision, it was her father's. He has publicly stated that he blocked the endorsement, and multiple members of the Editorial Board have resigned in protest.
Exactly. Soon-Shiong said he didn't want to "add to the division," and that he had asked the Editorial Board to "publish a list of positive and negative attributes about both of the presidential candidates." His daughter's claim that the decision was based on the candidates' support of Israel has no basis in any reporting.
It's also just a bad lie, because her father and (now former) members of the Editorial Board have spoken publicly about their reasons.
> An endorsement of Harris had been drafted by Post editorial page staffers but had yet to be published, according to two sources briefed on the sequence of events who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. The decision not to publish was made by The Post’s owner — Amazon founder Jeff Bezos — according to the same sources.
