All the comments are asking why run Windows. CrowdStrike runs on macOS and Linux too. It’s just that this time, CrowdStrike fuck up on Windows. I feel like we are better off running open-source software. Everyone can see where the mistakes are instead of running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
CrowdStrike is ran in userspace on macOS, and usually in an eBPF sandbox on Linux (as comments in the linked thread say). there is no way to prevent CrowdStrike from fucking up the kernel on Windows - and this is a Windows bug.
