At this point I'm genuinely starting to wonder if there is some EA/Rationalist offshoot that promotes in addition to making as much money as possible also to have as many children as possible - to maximize the odds of survival of the gene material or whatever...
Elon's father is also notoriously promiscuous and fecund. Inherited personality trait seems the simplest explanation. I'd think wealth is also part of it, but plenty of comparatively poor men father many children with many different women, so there's more to it than that. And wealth cuts both ways--Elon and his father might not have been so wealthy but for their personalities.
