I've always found their resources particularly valuable when I really want to go deep on a subject in a way that video courses (my other preferred way to learn) don't seem to always do.
And I think they strike the right balance between academic theory and practice. For example, I'm currently going through their Cyber Security Base https://cybersecuritybase.mooc.fi/descriptions/ and it seems very thorough (i'm not a security or devsecops expert so happy to hear thoughts from those who are)
The Python MOOC is probably the best intro to programming course I've seen, period. Highly recommended, and if you happen to live here with me, it's an easy way to get a few credits at yliopisto.
The Java course (https://java-programming.mooc.fi/) was being updated every year until a couple years ago when they switched to Python. I did it in 2020 and it was certainly a good introduction to programming. I don't know about the new Python edition.
Seems like a lot of people admire this project. I was AFK when it hit the front page, but did it get hugged to death earlier? That's a shame if that is the reason it got demoted as much as it did.
The courses page is also down. It's the pages of individual courses that are still up; it looks like they're hosted in separate subdomains. We'd need a list of links to all the course pages. Doesn't really help if they're up if we don't know which ones are available.
