Meh, Tesla could polish a frozen turd, thaw it out, price it at $80k and sell 4,000 of them. Just as Apple probably has sold some of the Vision Pros. We won’t know if it’s a success or not until they can produce 100k of them a year and we see if they sell that many. But that’s not really what I meant. (That’s on me, it was late at night and I did not clarify.)

Both of them are a product that, IMO, look stupid (highly subjective, I know), make you look stupid, and greatly misunderstand the traditional audience.

Or they’re creating an entirely new audience. Cybertruck is not a replacement for a regular pickup, at all. But perhaps it’s a replacement for an SUV. Vision Pro is not a replacement for an Oculus, but perhaps in a few generations it’ll be something entirely new and worthwhile.

Thanks for clarifying. Surprised my comment was so controversial!

> Cybertruck is not a replacement for a regular pickup

I think that’s actually a key insight. Most f150s are bought by suburban dads, not rural farmers. Tesla has been missing a masculine element, and I think that market has been perfectly identified.
