It's kind of a miracle this person wasn't almost immediately detained by US gov agents. Possessing this kind of hardware as a civilian especially if you import it from an active war zone is potentially a huge ITAR violation.


He lives in France and its not clear what laws he could have violated even if he would live in the US.

He looks at 20 year old stuff, doesnt dump the firmware and there are obviously no explosives involved. You can find this stuff in museums and on ebay.

Here the heat seeker / guidance system of a Sidewinder in a Pawnstars episode. She got 500$ in case someone is wondering. Her father got it from military surplus crates.

edit1: Sidewinders are still in active use btw. And according to wikipedia might be through the late 21st century. Stuff is just getting old, this is not much different from Magnetrons being shipped in household microwaves. High tech just gets old.
