It's clear remote can work for at least some people and companies. So by going full RTO you're really leaving a lot of talent on the table. IMO an ability to hire is the hardest part about building an engineering org so you're really playing on hard mode. I generally think remote companies will out compete in-person ones given a competitive landscape (which unfortunately doesn't describe a lot of marketplaces).
