Every industry that doesn't get consumed by a huge "tech" company that just slaps a middle-ware app on something is a good thing.
It's just endless empty-eyed bullshit that couldn't give a damn if the industry they're weevilling into is building cars or renting hotel rooms. They just want to extract a cut of whatever it is and/or siphon data. Then scale, scale, scale to impress The Investors until it falls apart under its own weight, but not before pockets are filled.
The "winners" are the consumers who got nearly free services and innovation, and the greater-fool-and-cashed-out investors, founders, early employees and to some extent employees who enjoyed great salaries. But not the investors.
