I really want to know why Google maps is slow on a $3500 laptop with a huge Nvidia card.


Works fine for me on two laptops, one that sounds similar to yours, and one that's just a Dell with Intel graphics. Both run Linux.

Maybe it's your OS or browser?


Its probably using the IGP for the browser, unless you run an external monitor.

You can check with the Nvidia activity monitor.

Maps is mostly going to be CPU bound though.


What do you mean by "slow"? I'm on a standard M1 Pro Macbook, and don't seem to have any issues?


I have an older computer and it's a dog. Other maps are somehow not dogs.
