1.6k+ computers, high but understandable . 1.6k phones, way to high. 1.6k+margin (3k?) for a AR/VR headset, seems like something most people would never buy.


I highly doubt Apple or anyone else expect most people to buy it. It's a new market with no content and no clear use cases. So starting slow and brining the price down over time seems like the best strategy.


“Most people” don’t buy laptops. That’s a terrible measure of whether a business is attractive.


Most people meaning their potential customers. As a customer myself, there is little that would convince me to get this headset for that price.


Don’t underestimate Apple fanboys.


Apple fanboys are the least likely to be into this sort of tethered, hattery pack requiring frippery.
