I don't think that the ends justify the means, but the outcome of having people have more fear and mistrust of government over-reach is at least a thin silver-lining.


I am afraid that people will mostly have more fear and mistrust of the government, not of their over-reach.

And that fear needs to grow a lot before any action will be taken, so it's still a net loss for the present time.
