Minetest is an open source game engine in which you can make your own voxel-based (minecraft-like) games, in lua. It offers a robust system of mods with dependencies. Mosts aspects of gameplay are easy to mod, visuals as well ("asset packs" are essentially downloaded from the server at login).
It is a bit like the child of Minecraft and Garry's Mod, if you know these.
The goal of the jam is to submit a self-contained game within the time frame. It started 10 days ago, but 11 days remain. It needs not be fancy, but more or less complete. For comparison, Ludum Dare gives developers 3 days.
