I'm glad there's more research on this, but that doesn't help those of us who have struggled (sometimes for decades) with this, and who, despite visits to many doctors, have never been able to find a solution except symptom management with drugs that seem incredibly harmful if used long-term.
Could this be psychosomatic? Has anyone here found that therapy ended up resolving this issue? That's about the only hope I have left for resolving this.
I'm wondering if it could be kind of adaptation against air (and smell) pollution in cities - when I spend my holidays far in the mountains I have less of such problem and better sense of smell than anyone else, then about installing air purifier or using anti-pollution mask non-stop for some time to prove it.
I'm vegetarian and I may have a deficit of bromelain (which is an enzyme which makes the mucus less thick) too.
