I respect and appreciate what GoG is doing with their DRM-free software.
In case you also struggle with moving on from spending what feels like too much time in videogame space:
This post caught my attention to the point where I browsed GoG a bit before coming back to my chosen reality where I choose more often what I do with my time. Currently I choose to play a couple hours with friends once or twice a week, and I’m looking for alternatives (but if gaming is the best way for us to keep in touch, that’s okay; sometimes the safer spaces games offer is a fitting venue).
Community science[0] is something I can do alone or with my threenager and it needn’t take much mental effort, just time, and that escape was in hindsight a major reason I played videogames; I didn’t have to sit with and observe my emotions.
Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan (WOOP)
Habit-forming takes time, and positive feedback for even remembering that you forgot to practice is helpful (Tiny Habits)
One thing I loved about Syndicate Wars was that, as you get more cybernetic limbs and organs for your agents they start breathing in their little profile screen.
