Barracuda security products | Clojure developer | Remote or Hybrid in the US | Hello - We are a Clojure team, building a cutting edge distributed system using Kafka streams and Elasticsearch for the Barracuda Sentinel and Forensics security products – deploying via Kubernetes, with auto-scaling.

This service processes about 2M+ objects every 15 minutes, with a rolling multi-petabyte volume of data available for multiple products’ usage. These products are expected to grow at least 4X in the next year. We provide API endpoints for accessing or taking action on the data.

Performance monitoring and observability are first class citizens in the design enabling us to measure the impact of changes to the system as it evolves.

We're a remote team with a strong engineering culture; we value autonomy and are empowered to deliver. We’re collaborative across product lines. And we like each other. (Hybrid available if you’re near one of our offices.)

I’m Andrea, the manager for the team. I'm looking for engineers with experience building large-scale distributed systems in the cloud, and hunger for meeting the challenges of such a system. Come join us!

Tech Stack: clojure, elasticsearch, kafka, postgres, redis, kubernetes, docker, AWS, istio, sumologic, prometheus

Our team is responsible for ingest and search, and a variety of feature-driven API endpoints. It's all happening at a fairly large scale, and growing, so it takes some fearless engineering and we're always looking for ways to improve performance or the operational aspects of the service. Looking to add engineers to the team who are confident enough to take calculated risks, test the heck out any change to ensure no negative impact to the product teams/customers, and embrace best practices regarding large-scale distributed systems - in design and operation.
