Just as a quick idea, you might want to make sure you compress your 4.4MB bundle before sending it to a client. Splitting your bundle might help for the initial page load, too.

Thanks! I think splitting the bundle is a great idea but something we haven't had time to dig into yet. We'll also get it compressed ASAP.
