Show HN: Thoughts as NFTs

Howdy! As many have recently understood or discovered, NFTs usually don't contain the actual art work on sale, but rather just point to it.

I've had a bit of a think on what "art work" could actually be stored inside the actual token, and thus "live" on the blockchain, and the obvious answer to me is: thoughts!

You can put a thought directly into the token, and mint it as an NFT. Even the biggest thoughts are small enough to be stored directly on the blockchain.

Based on this I have launched NFThoughts.com, and minted what I believe to be the first ever thought to be stored on chain as a NFT - https://opensea.io/collection/nfthoughts

This is of course only half-serious, but it is also only half-joking, and I'd love to see what discussion ensues on the merits or idiocy of this idea :)

Like the idea, but it doesn’t work: the text stored on the blockchain is also only a reference to the (itself decentrally distributed?) thought. If the last instance of the thought goes away - think civilisational collapse - does the blockchain really still store the thought? And how much will it be worth then?

Not sure...if "total collapse" is the test case that something must survive in order to hold any value, virtually nothing that we consider valueable today would be valueable in the first place. That said, maybe you're right, but it's a bit of harsh reduction ad absurdum.
