Yes, language evolves and it does so by majority rule, over time.

That’s not the case with :ok: though. I sure don’t get out much, but I see no widespread use in the real world.

What’s actually happening is that, with respect, one or more of the following vocal minorities is pushing for a change-in-meaning:

- white supremacists

- hoaxers / trolls

- virtue signallers
