It is common these days for companies to gather usage metrics for their products, it helps to make informed decisions on the next steps.
There are lots of tools available to collect metrics, such as Google Analytics, Amplitude or Mixpanel, but what I am curious about is how those tools are used within companies.
Does everybody have access to the tools output? For example, as a developer, can I look at the usage ratio of a particular feature, or is this information restricted to the marketing team, or whichever team is operating the metric tool?
Do you use these metrics to contact customers and sell them other products, based on their current usage of the product?
