It's doubtful that the OS X experience on a "hackintosh" will be as pleasant as it is on a mac. Mac OS X is designed to work really well on a small selection of hardware. There will probably be driver issues, and all kinds of other problems, on commodity PC hardware. Nevertheless, who knows, you might get lucky, have very few issues, and maybe even fall in love with "the world's most advanced operating system."


I think the whole point of the "Hackintosh" concept is that it's a custom PC with similar hardware to what Apple uses. If you take the time, it's not that hard to find out which device chipsets OSX supports, and most chipsets are used by a variety of manufacturers. Not to say that everything will be flawless, but most major issues can be avoided by carefully choosing the hardware.
