In 2010 I nearly joined a company which was building their business on deploying and managing Windows Mobile devices to enterprises. Glad I didn't do that!
2 things caused me to decline a Rolling Stones subscription which I just cannot get over:
1. A Rape on Campus
2. the Marathon bomber on the cover looking like a rock star
It's a rabbit hole, but there is pretty good support for loading OpenStreetMap data onto Garmin devices (other device makers did a better job obscuring their formats):
I would buy this if it was significantly cheaper than a phone and made it easy to adjust those tuning parameters. I prefer to keep my phone protected on the bike in case of a collision / fall.
I completely forgot it was 'missing' one until I had the phone for a week or two.
Thankfully all my listening is in the car, over the speaker, via Sonos, via AirPlay or Spotify Connect, or on my Bose QC35 or Jaybirds X3 bluetooth headphones.
It was a mistake. I sometimes think about "upgrading" (downgrading) to a two year old iPhone 6s to get a headphone jack again but it is not available in 256gb.
1) no fussing about with stuff that most people can't or don't want to do, 2) nice controllers included, no config faffing about, 3) last I checked even the Rpi3 had noticeable slowdowns and/or frame drops on Starfox and Super Mario 2—it's getting close, though, so a hypothetical Rpi4 might get us to 100% acceptable SNES emulation.
