I just checked my closest Microcenters (in Illinois.) 12 in Westmont and 25+ in Chicago (for $18) Zero W were 13 and 25+ respectively at $15.

There's more than one Pi Zero 2 W -- one with headers, and one without. Are you looking at both?

I'd pick one up when I'm in the area this weekend...but I'm not into the scalping/arbitrage game, and I've already got a few Pi Zero Ws kicking around without a purpose that are still overkill for lots of things. (I may have bought too many of those back when Microcenter was selling them for half of MSRP at $5.)

I use VLC for my music. Did you know if you uninstall the music app you can't play music though another music app?

Is this really true, I presume on iPhones? As an Android user, this sounds insane to me.

On my Iphone. I removed the music app. and was unable to play music in my car with the usb interface. It had no app to play from. VLC must use the music player in some way to play the audio. This is without carplay btw. Im pretty sure carplay is differnt.

Chrome for iPhone is also only allowed to be reskinned Safari.

It’s a locked-down platform - slightly less so if you’re in the EU.

Yeah, but that’s strictly worse for some of these examples. You can’t overcome the loss of energy just going into the battery and getting it back and the there is the huge cost of the battery itself.

The freezer example would require like $10 of electronics assuming there isn’t already a WiFi chip in it.

Yeah this is the simplest solution. I'm hoping my next EV can do V2H and act as a home battery.
