Looks like the OAI divergence is finally taking place. Seems like the comparisons are mainly with Opus 4.6 and GPT 5.4 though. Still, exciting to see a new frontier player.
Highly doubt it's good for the mass consumers and non-power users in the long term. Most consumers would prefer household OS name like Windows or MacOS over Linux as a pre-installed OS.
OEMs will always prefer Windows because of the profits they make whenever there's a Windows Refresh, no matter how bad the version is.
You'd be surprised to know that though this might be a possibility, MS Office Suite or whatever it's called now will still be some of the top installed/grossing apps on the App store. Windows is just one of Microsoft's gateways to get you on the office suite.
