How do you moderate what people do? You send someone to stop them from having sex because it was streamed to your servers?

The key phrase from the article is "review content filmed on its smart glasses when people shared it with Meta AI". I take that to mean the user took some action to actively share the footage with Meta (although knowing Meta, that could also mean they just didn't opt out)

I’m not being facetious when I say: are they that slow or really suffering from Messiah Complex?

I have no problem that they are doing what they’re doing. Someone was going to do it. But to be so oblivious to it is a problem. One would argue that it’s a national security problem.

There is no need for a new name. It’s called a high-impact change. As opposed to a low-impact change, where one changes or adds the least number of lines necessary to achieve the goal.

Not surprised to see this, since once again, because some of us didn’t like history as a subject, lines of code is a performance measure, like a pissing contest.

The lower T claim sounds like a pretty obvious adaptation to me.

High T = high risk appetite. Low T = low risk appetite.

If you have kids, your risk appetite should be relatively lower. Otherwise your offspring may have to grow up without you around.

Although I agree that the lack of sleep would have a huge impact as well.

I am sorry whatever you have observed convinced you that it’s unnatural for fathers to spend time with children. It’s unnatural for adult men to NOT spend time with our tiny children. That’s how we bond, and that bond helps us stick around, protect, provide, nurture, and do all the other things that helps them SURVIVE.

It would be unnatural for us to not do the things that would help our offspring survive.

Edit: removed a negative.

Ok, you may consider it easy after 5, and kudos to you, but kids are definitely not “not difficult.”

I agree that it’s the most natural thing, and I consider most of my time spent elsewhere to be a waste, but our youngest is very active and worrying about her wellbeing for extended periods is definitely exhausting!

I was unclear. I meant it's not difficult to feel nurturing towards them and form a bond. That's what I thought the OP meant about being difficult.

That’s not what I meant.

I mean, how you clearly point out the immovable constraint and blow past it as if the whole thing is just a cultural fad is somewhat shocking.

Single income doesn’t pay the bills. Period. Everything else is downstream.

One could argue that your talking about the dangers of these downstream effects is insulting and classist. Who is gonna pay these bills? Do you think we prefer that strangers raise our kids?

If we had a trust fund, we would raise our kids ourselves, and backhand brag on forums about how it is the right way. Sadly, we don’t.

Where did I say anything about a cultural fad? Where did I mention "dangers of downstream effects"? Where did I claim that I think "we prefer strangers raise our kids"?

You're pulling your reply straight from the offended-rack

Thank you for such high quality thinking and writing. Very impressive.

Pretty sure OpenCode is not subsidizing, and across Codex 5.x always on xhigh, Claude Opus 4.6 on high effort and a bunch of Chinese models, I only burned about $50 over the last month.

I don’t understand why people insist on these subscriptions and CC.

Fanboyism is a bit too hardcore at this point. Apple fanboys look extremely prudent compared to this behavior.

For reference, users on claude max 20x who hit their weekly quota would have spent roughly ~$6,000/month in the API. (Source: my own usage)

So you just aren't in the same realm of usage. Maybe that is why you don't understand?

I guess I could’ve been clearer.

What I don’t understand is why people aren’t trying models that are 10x and in some cases 100x cheaper.

Though unclear why you’d assume all my usage would be on Claude Opus when I mentioned “a bunch of Chinese models?”

Unless this is a flex about how many tokens you burned. In which case, congrats...?

Oh woops didnt see the part about Chinese models my bad

What does nailing mean when you ask whether it agreed with your accountant?

Given the same inputs but not provided the results (output) from our accountant, did it come to the same conclusions or have good analysis as to why it differed?

Obviously, accounting is "spreadsheet math" intensive, so Claude wrote some python scripts for that which kept the math very stable. But there were some complex nuances that had taken the accountant and I quite a bit of work to track down and clarify. Claude quickly had a very accurate read on the situation and knew all the right clarifying questions.

I'm not yet ready to ever sign a return that's been entirely AI prepared, but I left the exercise pretty impressed.

Which AI does your accountant use?
