This community is laughably caustic and abusive. My friend attempted to create a simple tutorial site and their org harassed him for over a year. He didn't even mention the word "meshtastic" and they made dozens of false trademark claims that his site could be "confused" with an official site.
I was previously a fan, but I'd never seen behavior like that from an "open source" project.
You’re understating it. Meshtastic is horribly designed. If you designed a wireless mesh network making all the worst possible choices, with the most shortsighted design decisions imaginable, you’d get something a little better than Meshtastic.
I don't know if the page actually f's with copy/paste or not since I already have the extension. It's usually most useful on forms where they force you to type in stuff.
Yeah, but the B60 is basically half the speed of a 3090... in 2025. I'd rather buy 5yr old nVidia hardware for $100 more on eBay than an intel product with horrendous software support that's half the speed effectively. This build is so cool because the 2x 3090 setup is still maybe the best option 5yrs+ after the GPU was released by nVidia.
s2 is one of the coolest technologies that more people need to be talking about - I'm still begging them to move one layer lower -> turning s2 into an incredible middleware for edge IOT deployments!
PLEASE if someone from the team sees this - I would pay so much for a ephemeral object store using your same edge protocol (seen in the sensor example from your blog).
AI is barely a blip on why the job market is dead for entry level, and dying all the way up the ladder.
Every one of my engineer friends says the same thing. "My team is 80% indians" and more than half are not qualified for the job they have.
The whole thing is a fucking scam for them, every company, top to bottom. Recruiters, hiring managers, referrals, CEO's. All one thing in common.
I'll take my downvotes, I don't care, everyone here knows I'm right. And those with their head up their ass can enjoy getting replaced and spending years looking for another role.
Appointing indian leadership is the single biggest sign of moving to an extraction phase for a company.
The idea is they think the current value of the institution and IP is higher than their ability to innovate, so the try to outsource and reduce labour cost as much as possible intending to do the bare minimum maintenance for as long as possible.
This gets compounded by every layer trying to get the most out of the company as fast as possible, hiring in a way that has no long term outlook.
I honestly have no understanding of why people thought passkeys really improved anything... Why would I want to give a massive tech company the ability to usurp ALL of my accounts under the guise of being "more secure".
I'm a fan of SpaceX but after his christmas eve crash out over hating americans / his general procedure for running a company I have zero-idea why anyone would want to work for Elon... For any amount of money.
I drag Elon pretty frequently in my video essays on that short form video site. I started because his artificial urgency, like telling his employees this company will be out of business usually they don't pull off some miracle like making FSD work this year for sure, is a laughably bad behavior pattern usually seen among crappy founders of much smaller crappy companies.
But it turns out there was such a rich vein of examples of being a bad manager that you just have to keep digging. Completely unsurprising that a CFO would bail before being forced to, at the very least, avert his eyes from something sketchy.
I was previously a fan, but I'd never seen behavior like that from an "open source" project.
