I have used both Xcode and Text editor & Terminal for C/C++ development. In my opinion both work equally well but I would advise you to use the Text editor and Terminal method because it means you need to learn how things like build systems, LLDB, Valgrind and more work. This knowledge is essential when the IDE does something Unexpected and you need to fix it.

Your questions present a false dichotomy. You can be against the news anchor merely because of his principles and against the school board because of theirs.

To me this is logically consistent because you believe the viewpoints themselves are incorrect.

The problem is that you're not the arbiter of all correctness in the universe--what if you're not around to tell everyone what's correct, or what if you don't know, or are wrong? Peoples' careers and lives shouldn't be subject to vagaries of public opinion.

That's why we have a legal system for resolving legitimate grievances. If YC believes that (for example) Peter Thiel has damaged their brand by so strongly supporting Trump, they can sue him for their just compensation. If they find that they have no real grounds for such, they can deal with the fact that we live in a society that prizes having a broad diversity of opinions, some of which are odious but which we must tolerate anyway.

An educated guess would be that it uses GPS for location. It is often not possible to get a lock on the satellites indoors.

Is GPS really that accurate, though, that it'll locate you with enough accuracy to allow a camera to center on your position?

If it is indeed using GPS, I'm guessing it's using a GPS in the camera base too, to figure out the correction.

Short-baseline differential GPS with a base station can have cm-level accuracy, if I remember correctly.

That's what I was thinking. Both are viewing the same satellites, since they're close to each other. The base, since it knows it's stationary, can derive the corrections itself, and figure out where the object is.

Yes it should be but it almost never is. We tend to prefer people who are like us and share cultural similarities to us. This means that people who may have contributions to make don't get the opportunity.

So these groups are important. They allow for people to advocate for themselves and to be heard as something more than a lone voice in the wilderness.

I honestly don't think that a lack of social skills is to blame. I'm not the most social creature and that sort of behaviour horrifies me.

I think it is more likely a lack of empathy, combined with the view that the internet is somehow not the "real world" and an entitlement complex of incomprehensible size.

Perhaps we define social skills differently... or it's just the wrong word (probably).

But I do think a lot of the aggression towards women stem from insecurity and lack of ability to comfortably converse with opposite gender. Those in my mind are social skills.

I would agree that the symptomatic cause of the current situation is insecurity, but not about "talking to girls". It's fear of losing what you consider to be yours. Whether or not you have any sort of right to it--and I think it is very safe to say that, no, young white males do not have an inherent right to be catered to by all aspects of the game market--doesn't matter, you think it's yours and they're taking it and that means it's OK to call the cops and get a SWAT team sent to somebody's house. (Apparently.)

The fear that the universe is zero-sum is the major way that regressive elements maintain societal control. The rich guy takes nine cookies, elbows the middle-class guy, and says "hey, the poor guy's gonna steal your cookie!", and the middle-class guy hops to. It applies here just the same--if you're so unable to get outside of your head to entertain the idea that maybe games not targeted directly at you could maybe, just maybe, expand your horizons a bit and make your life better, while making life better for other people...well, you freak out, and apparently you don't stop freaking out.

Personally, as a straight white dude, I am marvelously unthreatened by the idea that people make games for people who aren't me. I encourage it. But then, I have the basic reading comprehension to not try to say with a straight face that "gamers are dead" was a pejorative rather than market analysis, so I was probably never in the wheelhouse for the hatemongering.

I know nothing about gaming, gaming culture and gamergate. So I can't speak to any of the underlying issues involved.

The author mentions this and notes, " The gaps here were bridged using solder wick." This is a flat copper braid so should be pretty strong.
