No it’s absolutely fine. I have an iPhone with a basic Bluetooth connection to the car. I have a stalk for audio control and I use Siri to tell it to do stuff. The audio is entirely hands free. You just get in the car and it works. You don’t need to touch or handle it for navigation either.

Using Siri is more dangerous than texting. The below linked research (and others) found that using Siri raises the reaction time 36%. That is 1% worse than texting! For comparison, driving at the drink-drive limit (UK) is 12%. So you are doing yourself a big disservice by using Siri and thinking you are safe(r).

Actually two weeks ago there was a huge Jewsons truck blocking an entire junction while driver was on his phone. The driver in front of me who was blocked confronted him and he told her to fuck off and what was she going to do about it. She used her phone to take a photo of him on his. I hope something is done. My father used to import clone PC stuff from Taiwan. The guys running these ops were surprisingly small usually. Some of the original ISA graphics cards including the weird CEG (anti aliasing ones) had 3 guys running the entire outfit. The guy writing the software was stuffing boxes in his lunch break and there were no managers. Even the case design companies were one man outfits with all the actionable stuff contracted out. It was remarkable.

I concur. This world is simpler than people think. They share specs on powerpoint files and the firmware is written (/built) by one guy during his breaks (I was going to say exactly this even before I read your comment)

I think they should offset all of these things against the probability that the IDE you have to use has its own ozone hole.

Runtime footprint and CPU is pretty tiny for Go. It’s shockingly low cost to run it. I am frequently surprised.

That’s what I mean. Go has small memory and CPU usage which is one reason it’s good for cloud stuff, but the results indicate opposite. It’s even higher than Haskell which is strange.

I suspect it’s easier knowing that they aren’t coming back than having to explain that you don’t know when they will come back and what mood they will be in when they do get back. I wanted to write an iOS version of it. Just an iPad and a radio using the audio interface and you’re there. But I don’t have the time to do it.

It’s dangerous to compare any cost to trust. The two concepts are independent and do not overlap from experience.

But at least do yourself a favour and find another merit to sell your product on that isn’t ”cheaper than the usual guys”
