In some sense companies that don't protect your data make money off the back of your data being leaked (in the sense that they saved money by not spending it on security)

If they find during an investigation that you're avictim of a crime they WILL tell you where they found the data and what was exactly in it.

If you're leaked in infostealer dump, you'd learn from the police what was associated with your email in this dump, so you know to snort if it was only empty password store from your Firefox, or financial data exposing you to ruin.

I work outside of SV in the southeast and most businesses know AI is being used for products they use but they want experts in that field behind that.

I'm not so sure "ai" (LLMs) is superior to us. LLMs are actually incapable of being superior, maybe some years down the road some new tech makes my statement mute, but today is not that today.

This is the reason. My city is struggling to fix its water supply that was broken over a decade ago (our water supply comes from a temporary system) since FEMA sent our funds to other things under the first trump admin.

They don't want to put the cost on the consumer, but there is no other choice. If our government was smart (it's not) they would make these rules and fund the changes.
