I'm skeptical of science publications I see on social media especially when they make grand claims, but this seems to be interesting. I don't have a deep enough physics/topology background to be able to assess this paper though. I know some theories of everything end up non-verifiable or predict anything you want it to predict. Any opinions from people with physics/topology backgrounds?
Microsoft owns a lot of commercial real estate. The people who manage the commercial real estate within Microsoft certainly care about the value of those investments.
Okay? I'm not surprised that a conservative judge is part of a conservative ideological legal organization. That doesn't mean the same thing as saying they're a politician who is funded by someone.

Doesn't it make it looks like he is a ideologue supported by ideological organisation that happens to be a judge and uses this occupation to further his ideology instead of basing judgements on law?
And that organisation conspire to promote judges that are ideologues first?
I wonder what would happen if a critical mass of people with Roths, 401ks, index funds gave their proxy vote to Bernie Sanders instead of BlackRock, Vanguard, etc.?
My mom has macular degeneration and she loved to read.
At first I bought her an e-reader and a subscription to a library that had more ebooks than our local library. That gave her access without driving and she was able to adjust the font, font-size, contrast and brightness to her satisfaction. That worked for several years.
My backup plan for things getting worse was to move to audiobooks which she refused to try earlier because it felt like giving up to her. Braille was out of the question. Unfortunately vision loss is often, but not always, a precursor to dementia which I now know. She slowly stopped most activities she enjoyed entire life.
In some ways, attitude it the most important tool. Acceptance of things you cannot change, adaptability and creativity to handle unexpected events along the way, and compassion to support her in her journey.
I've wondered how far these TOS via clicks can go and what would actually stand up in court.
I'm also surprised an activist hasn't attached a TOS to sending payments such as "By accepting my money you agree to pay me $1 Million dollars for any time I spend more that 5 minutes with customer service without my dispute being settled."
I seem to remember a case where someone altered the fine print agreement on a credit card application and the credit card company lost the case with the consumer, but I forget the details.
From a US perspective, these are all markets that depend on expensive skilled US labor. Many things like manufacturing have shifted to labor markets that are cheaper. How much is due to currency differences, cost of living differences, etc. vs. employee safety or anti-pollution regulations ... I don’t know.
Why not have both as an audit system? Electronic voting for instant tabulation. It prints out a voter verifiable ballot receipt that goes into a ballot box. If the electronic count and the paper count don’t match, some error or fraudulent activity has occurred.
