Cool! Why are you building this? Just to read these papers, or do you have some follow up too?

Have you seen https://edisonscientific.com/articles/labbench2-an-improved-... ?

I think they had something similar in chemistry too

Isn't it already somewhat affordable? https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/cost-of-i...

It's a political problem, not a tech problem

Exactly; most of the world's problems are political problems.

Which Musk has no intention to fix, of course, because he's more about money and (buying) status with it. He had an opportunity but decided to aid the regime in extracting people's data instead (probably selling it to adversaries).

> For a limited time, Codex will also be available to ChatGPT Free and Go users to help build more with agents. We’re also doubling rate limits for existing Codex users across all paid plans during this period.

Is there more information about it? For how long and what are the limits?

They are probably providing it for free for 1 month.

no

Curious why they decided to curate poker hands instead of a normal poker

Poker has very high variance, you'd need several hundred thousand hands to confidently say who's better. Also, you probably want to precompute the GTO-optimal play for benchmarking purposes.

But can't computers play several hundred thousand poker hands easily in a couple of hours ?

But now because the hands are so strong we don't see any folds

I tried it last year, and compiled a list of projects in one category herehttps://openreview-copilot.eamag.me/projects and 2025 retro here https://eamag.me/2025/links/Links-And-A-Retrospective-Of-202...

The biggest issue is to be able to identify good ideas, ones that are useful, novel and doable. "Research taste" is the thing people develop over years!

I don't think we're there yet, and "vibe" research producing slop now, but creating tools for other researches to move faster sounds way more promising

Nice! I wanted to do the same, but wanted to do youtube videos first https://eamag.me/2026/Best-HackerNews-Videos
