Because “Shareholder Value” is maximised in the US. Therein lies the loophole.

The author speaks very much from his liberal/capitalist outlook on life - the comment is pretty spot-on.

The useful parts to me were the assertions the author made about Beijing attempting to guide future talent into hard science areas.

I believe, over the long run, that the RMB will appreciate against the USD, and that China's GDP will double by 2035.
