Okay!

I feel like this warning solves it. No shame or trouble needed for anyone.

I stopped reading three sentences in when I realized it was getting hard to follow. AI explains it.

> Indigenous? What the fuck are you talking about? Seriously? Why are you so happy to be racist in public?

That's not an argument. Do you think it would be "racist" if Japanese people don't want to be largely replaced in their home country with white or black people? If not, why not?

Suggestion: Adding dates to your blog posts would be helpful. The first sentence mentioned "last year" and I was confused what that meant since the post was undated.

That's a great suggestion. I'll probably add that tomorrow.

What are they called?

Btw, Dr. Who has full episodes on YouTube.

Shada | FULL EPISODE with BONUS Animation | Doctor Who: Classic - https://youtu.be/Qt7JdpWXmtE

The channel is https://www.youtube.com/@ClassicDoctorWho

I've been enjoying going through the Tom Baker series... you never forget your first Doctor.

I should very much like to watch the Tom Baker seasons again, Sadly, I can see only the 1965 season 3 videos on the channel. The Shada link (and presumably all the rest of it) are "The uploader has not made this video available in your country" :-(

Seems to be only available in certain countries.

For me, I see things like https://imgur.com/a/ekehKDx on the page. If I didn't have access to it, I'd be tempted to hunt down a VPN that would allow me to watch it.

Exactly so. I just found that it's on prime video (for a few bucks) as well if you don't want the blu-ray features.

If you've seen the old VHS version of Shada where Tom Baker narrates the missing pieces, you'll probably enjoy the animated version replacements more.

It is strongly misleading because it says "behind hacking scandals" (which suggests behind all of them in general) not "behind some of the hacking scandals". Considering that by far the most important one, the Hugging Face hack, has no Irregular involvement, the headline is deceptive.

LCDs can get a lot brighter than OLED screens, which means the screen strobing (for reduction of persistence blur during eye movement) includes shorter light flashes, which means you get less visible persistence blur.

That's why the Quest 3 (LCD) has less blur than the far more expensive Vision Pro (OLED).

OLED screens have much better black levels, but those are perhaps a lesser priority than reducing persistence blur.

This was downvoted but it's true.

It seems you haven't heard of the Hugging Face hack.

I have heard a lot about it, I do not buy Open AIs version of the story. It is incredibly irresponsible to be a frontier model developer and run unreleased models on ExploitGym and pay no attention to them. It's literally the hacking test, how did they not look at it and what it was doing for weeks? Why did they not have any monitoring in place? Where were the basics...? Ergo they were irresponsible and are now spinning the incident into regulatory capture, or have we forgotten they've taken on so much debt that token commoditization undermines the ability to make enough revenue to pay back their loans?

This is before considering that the emergent behavior comes from their training regime. The trend to make them more autonomous for longer times is a desire of the pilled and why they are "relentlessly proactive" (the generalized version of their incessantness in completing any task, a set of hacking problems in this case). I prefer my agent to stop and ask questions, stop being so proactive with bad assumptions under missing context.

I don't buy the "independent" report because OpenAi had complete editorial control over the final text. We should not trust or take Big Ai at their word.

It's not heavy, it's very light. I bet it's not hot either.

The latest post was published in mid March. I wonder whether the remaining three are still coming.

I posted a question but apparently it was shdow bnned automatically by HN. Here it is again if anyone cares: https://sharetext.io/j3wjsivi

yeah looks like it triggered a keyword filter to mark it as dead to me. Or a few people flagged it.

Either way it seemed relevant enough to me that I vouched for it.

Thanks for vouching, it seems to have helped.
