We were latchkey kids. The key to the house door was tied around our neck using a shoelace. When the street lights came on, it meant going home. Both parents worked to afford the house and the kids' expenses.

I have old Kindles that Amazon disabled from downloading new books. They are trying to force me to buy new Kindles, but I just use the Kindle reader app for my PC. Anyone can recommend an alternative to Kindle. Please let me know.

Just read this thread. Or sideload via USB.

It's not that large of an impediment if you're modestly technically savvy.

This is why I use LibreOffice instead of Microsoft365.

I love LibreOffice for documents, but in this case I was specifically trying to set up custom domain email routing (Exchange) for my project. Sadly LibreOffice can't host my MX records haha. If only setting up decent email deliverability was as easy as installing an open-source word processor.

I've been using Fastmail for years now to host emails for my domains. Works like a charm. Maybe worth for you too.

recently i was helping a a friend purchase a custom domain, and signup to a email service; even though i use fastmail, i was surprised to find proton was like 3eur per month (fastmail is 5eur). when my renewal expires, i will probably switch to proton - for 10eur the features are really good;

Did they have a working business plan?

Step 1: Copy Reddit

Step 2: ?

Step 3: Profit!

Step 0: acquire the company through a leveraged buyout by the CEO's own private equity firm [0]

Step 1: speed-run into the ground while loading it up with the debt of the purchase price and paying yourself management fees.

Step 2: close up shop, write down the loss and reduce tax liability for next year?

Interesting. Can revive DOS games in DOS to Rust to make them cross-platform. I imagine most DOS games are no longer sold or supported, or IP sitting on an underwriter's file cabinet?

What is the ROI in Data Centers? Google has an advantage in making its own chips and hardware, as it is 1/3rd the cost of others. Microsoft has $0 ROI on its data centers.

Memory and Chip prices went up, and Microsoft is building Data Centers. Copilot 365 only has 3% of users using the AI features. Microsoft's biggest AI customer, OpenAI is looking to use other Data Centers. Microsoft's stock took a 10% hit and lost $400B USD. Microsoft's Data Centers have high electricity bills and thus have a 0 ROI. If Microsoft doesn't get customers for its AI Data Centers, they stand to lose more than $400B USD. Investors want to see profits, not broken promises of profits.

So contrary to what the title claims, Microsoft has not actually lost $400 billion; it is simply a prediction?

But have they really invested $400 billion in data centers so far?

Microsoft deactivates pirated versions of Office and tells you to buy a copy.
