Reminder, you can turn off the animated snow effect with the snowflake icon at the top

Sure, if you don't mind having your eyeballs seared by the brightest orange on record.

At least he didn’t use the trick to make the background HDR bright.

It's not a "reminder" for people who've never been to the site before. Especially not when the icon isn't even visible on some devices, like my phone in portrait.

No you can't, it just turns the background yellow.

EDIT: the snow stops _but after a few seconds_. I toggled it to find out if it would turn off the snow, and the immediate feedback was that it doesn't. That's really _really_ bad UX.

It's a fun little winter feature. People need to give it a break.

fwiw I went through the whole article with the snow effect on and found it just fine too.

I get the site has a frivolous feel, which I do like. And there's no problem with snow if you can turn it off. But it _seems_ like you can't turn the snow off, at which point it does become annoying.

And it's actually making a serious point about something I care about, so I actually wanted to read the article (which I did through the snow).

I would suggest keeping an open mind. I use LLMs to check, my writing and if could be could improved. English is not first language and I am not confident enough to know if what I wrote comes across professionally or not. May be the author of the blog post has the same issue.

English is my fourth language and I much prefer reading something that is imperfect but written by a human to something auto-generated. That feels as if we someone would say "I'm busy, talk to my agent instead."

This comes across a little aggressive and braggy. Perhaps a better way to write it would be:

> I much prefer reading something that is imperfect but written by a human to something auto-generated. That feels as if we someone would say "I'm busy, talk to my agent instead."

Condescending to someone who speaks your language as a fourth language about their tone comes off as extremely rude and superior. A better way to write this would be:

""

This might be helpful.

It is a repository of scripts to automatically build Microsoft's 'vscode' repository into freely-licensed binaries with a community-driven default configuration.

I believe the license for the VScode C# plug-in prohibits using it with VScodium.

I didn’t know this until recently when someone pointed it out.

Thought it was relevant since OP is talking about a Linux IDE for C#

Have you tried Firefox focus[0]. I use it on a daily basis and I am quite happy with it.

Bill gates talks about corruption in his 2014 annual letter (1). Search for the word "corruption" if you don't want to the read the whole letter. TLDR: Its manageable.

I am in Norway and all I have to do is put a sticker on my mail box, which basically says "No unsolicited mail" which stops the postman from filling my mailbox with junk mail. I usually take off the sticker during Christmas or near black Friday, so I can see if I am missing out on any good deals.

I wonder, if it would make sense, to have a service, which would receive all your mail, sorts it for you, throws out the junk, scans the rest and email that to you. In Norway, I rarely receive any important physical mail, especially since the government has started a secure email service[0], where you can receive your payslip and other important documents from government departments. The senders are pre authorized and pay a small fee to send an email to the user but the service is free for the user of the service.

Galileo isn't second, its 4th or 5th in the market. Depending on how you read the table on this page [1].

>Also wonder how many devices this network can support. I'm sure there is sufficient capacity but I'm just curious how the capacity is calculated!

Satellite navigation systems broadcast signals on a specific frequency. Anyone listening, should be able to pick up the signal. Therefore I assume infinite capacity.

Rob Mensching the creator of WIX was on dot net rocks recently. Might give you a bit of a perspective from the other side :) http://www.dotnetrocks.com/?show=1367

Can you elaborate as to why you came to this conclusion. What factors / information drove you to associate bitcoin with an unsound or shady business ?

I sympathize with those who feel that explaining there views to people who don't know a lot about the topic is a waste of time. But if you decide that for a given topic, don't go to a forum and make claims! If you make claims, be prepared to back them up; if you aren't prepared, refrain from making claims.

An exception is if you have authority that will shift people's beliefs even without backup.

Another exception can be if you merely post links, and don't endorse any statements beyond that link. Then you're performing the service of providing more information, and any problems can be taken up with the original author.

But making claims and refusing to back them up or clarify on account of trollphobia is borderline troll itself.

Did you post the wrong link? This is a public discussion forum; asking questions is generally not considered rude. You're free to ignore the question as well.

You accused alykhalid of acting in bad faith. You made it clear you don't want any questions about the whys of that so instead of asking I shall simply write this and downvote.
