I was interested in working in the tidal space at the time and this was the best book to start with.
I was also reading an amazing set of papers on horizontal axis marine current turbines by Batten and Bahaj [1]. That was in 2009 so not sure what progress the field has made, but they kinda blew my mind at the time.
I don't really like small notebooks, I've been using artist sketchbooks recently which have worked out pretty well. When I'm done with them, I slice through it and scan the sheets
Yes, I am finding when I go to a larger notebook I feel more free to write full, longer sentences, etc. Maybe there is some sort of landscape Field Notes notebook I would prefer....
He's quite right about passing on the Moleskine and other top-dollar notebooks.
Hi Alexandra, this is a great suggestion! We're still figuring out what the right set of benchmarks for "market" returns are -- right now we use the S&P 500, but are also considering alternatives like passive age-appropriate target date funds and portfolios constructed using Fama-French factor weights. But we will ultimately add a panel that shows abnormal returns for each official as you suggest.
